I tried the Smokestop filter for the Blueair 402 model, but these are the exact same, only different sized to accommodate the larger models. If you have any issue with odors or cigarette smoke, this is the filter to get.

I had an extreme situation where there was a methane leak in my neighborhood. The fumes were claimed by authorities to be "safe," but I and many other neighbors suffered from headaches, dizziness and nauseousness. The fumes burned at your eyes and it was pretty unbearable. Well, turns out this was to recur for the next few nights, and with no other place to stay, I invested in a Smokestop filter to temporarily replace my particle filter. It was INCREDIBLE. Immediately, all the fumes in the room were swept up by the Blueair and I was able to spend my time in this room with no health issues. (Whenever I left the room to another part of the house, all the previously mentioned symptoms returned.)

What's the difference between the Smokestop and the regular particle filter? This filter has a layer of activated charcoal that captures odors, and still has the familiar particle filtering layers, all built into one. Simple concept, and yes, a lot of other air cleaners have charcoal, but this one is specific to the Blueair and it's unique air-cleaning technology. After my experience with the noxious fumes in my home, I am completely sold on the effectiveness of this product. If you have any odor issues in your home, then spring a little extra dough for these filters. They are well worth the extra bucks.

This bed looks just fine, but the frame and four horizontal slats are insufficient support. Feels like the headboard could fall off at any minute and/or we will come crashing to the ground in the middle of the night. The price is obviously not reduced from $500+ as advertised.

Would return it, but they don't refund the shipping cost, and the cost of return shipping (which we would also have to pay ourselves) would be more than the refund we would get back.

So after seeing this deal posted on another site, I jumped on the California King. I'm a 165 lb. active male who does strain his back every once and awhile. The last mattress, although comfortable, didn't help the tension I had in my lower back. So here's my review (1 being the worst, 5 being the best).

COMFORT - 5 out of 5:

I was a bit scared at first since this was my first memory foam mattress. I like to sleep cold and on a firm mattress, both of which memory foam doesn't highlight. I was extremely surprised that that wasn't the case for me. The mattress does warm up to your body, but not to an uncomfortable temperature. Likewise, I was surprised how firm the mattress was. It was much firmer than my spring mattress which I thought was semi-firm. If you like a firm mattress, this mattress might be a good option.

QUALITY - 5 out of 5:

The mattress' box was torn up when it arrived. I don't blame the UPS guy since it was nearly 70 lbs, but the mattress was in good condition. The cover was soft and the foam reacts like one would imagine it would. Aside from the box, the mattress was rolled up in layers of plastic and well protected. It also comes with a 20 year guarantee. I'm not really sure how many of us really will use a mattress warranty, but I doubt it's an easy process being that it's a mattress. Shipping this thing anywhere would cost you a price of a new mattress. Maybe they cover shipping?

SMELL - 4 out of 5:

I've read lots of articles online about a terrible smell and odor once it's open, but it really wasn't that terrible. It wasn't like I couldn't sleep on it. It smelled new more than anything. But I did take off 1-rating here just because this is a personal preference. Some might have sensitive noses, others not so much. So if you do have a sensitive nose, consider waiting a day before sleeping on it. The smell isn't unbearable at all, just artificial.

PAIN RELIEF - 5 out of 5 (for now):

It was comfortable and my lower back felt like it was well-at-ease during the night - something my old mattress did not do. I'm not really one of those people who believes that memory foam can cure aches and pains, but we'll see down the road. At this very moment, I like the pressure on my lower back.

OVERALL - 5 out of 5:

Honestly, this is the best mattress I've slept on. It's firm, contours to my lower back, and is overall comfortable. I'm very content with the mattress, especially for the price.

SET UP:

I wanted to get a folding bed frame but couldn't deal with the issue of squeaking. So I built my own platform frame for this mattress out of hardwood. The mattress is laying across 6 wood planks and I cannot feel the planks at all. No squeaking as of now.

Soleus Air DP1-30E-03, 30 Pint Portable Energy Star Dehumidifier, with Humidistat Review

I've been using this for several hours every day for three weeks now. I use this in different bedrooms or living rooms in my apartment.
Humidity in these rooms typically starts around 50-60% Within an hour of turning on the DP1-30E-30 on medium, the humidity is down to about 40% Within two hours it's down to 35% . From there humidity hovers between 30% to 35% as long as the unit remains on. I'm using an external humidity gauge to confirm the actual humidity. The DP1-30E-30 digital gauge and the external gauge agree.

If you unplug and then replug the unit, it remembers it's previous plugged settings. This means you can plug it to a daily timer which is very convenient.
The lowest fan setting is not quiet enough for sleeping. The lowest fan setting on the DP1-30E-30 is about the same noise as the highest fan setting of a typical plastic fan.

It's a large object to move around. However, it's wheels work fine on linoleum and carpet.
The intake vent is in the front and the outtake is on the top. The back is flat so it can be placed against a wall.

I'm very pleased with it.

I searched diligently for a nice desk under $200 locally and online. I was getting frustrated because there seem not to be a lot of choices , and some where just not that attractive. This desk caught my eye on another website but I waited a day to buy it because a lot of reviewers were complaining on how difficult the assembly was with the desk. It seemed like most people thought it was a very nice desk so I went ahead and ordered it. I received it rather quickly and shipping was free which was a plus.

I am going to agree and say the assemble requires patience; however, it is not as difficult as some mentioned. It has a lot of small parts, mostly screws. I think the reason for this is that this is a very well designed desk. I am in the middle of the pack as far as being handy, and I was able to handle it without much trouble. It did take me about 7 hours to put it together but I paced my self to make sure I did not mess up. Some people might cry at that amount of time but the end result is well worth it .

Now on to the desk itself...The wood on it feels like real wood , not like the cheap stuff you get at Walmart. It feels very sturdy not wobbly like some other furniture you sometimes buys. The designed is great in that you have a cabinet for your pc tower to hide it and you have filing cabinet and 2 drawers. I like the fact that you have some counter space between the your cabinets and top part of desk. It works great for little stuff like Ipods, etc. The desk is heavy so here is a tip... BUY MOVING MEN SLIDERS AND PUT ON THE LEGS TO MAKE IT EASY TO MOVE IT. I bought some at Target that stay on and they blend in very nice with the desk.

So in conclusion , yes I wish the desk assembly was less time consuming but the end result will make you forget about it. You can either buy an easy to assemble desk that you might find from Walmart and then you are not sure if you like it, or you can suffer a little bit putting it together and be in love with your new work station . I would buy this again. Hope it helps someone :)
