I've collected a few Le Creuset pans in various sizes and colors.
The 2 quart french oven that I've had for years is used the most and I wanted another pan that was larger but not as large as my soup pot.
This one filled the bill perfectly. It has a flat bottom making it easier to use for roasting or browning than my soup pot. The sides are high enough to use it for stews, soups, rice or frying and I really like the Linen color.
The handles on this pot are larger than my older french oven so it's easier to get a good grip.
All in all, it's a very versatile size and shape. I expect to depend on it for many years.

Sauder Homeplus Four Shelf Storage Cabinet Review

We purchased this cabinet via Amazon after searching the internet. The cabinet arrived earlier than promised, so we were happy about that. My adult daughter helped me put the cabinet together, and overall, it went OK. There were a few minor problems during assembly. The first is when we put the rear 'feet' together with the bracing. You have to tap a holder into one of the holes, and then you hand screw in the leveler. When tapping in the holder, part of the plastic foot broke off. It is in the back, and it didn't effect the cabinet, so I didn't worry about it. The second minor issue was discovered when we flipped the cabinet over to nail on the back cardboard. We discovered that the cardboard didn't fit evenly - apparently one of the sides of the cabinet wasn't quite as deep(wide) as the other. The front of the cabinet was in alignment, but the back was not. Again, it was by a small amount and in the back, so I didn't worry about it.

Putting in the shelves was a bit of a tight squeeze, but it seemed to make the cabinet sturdier. The bottom line is my wife is happy, so I'm happy! A solid product for the price.

I received my jewelry cabinet quickly and in excellent shape. The product was well-packaged and had no damage during shipment.

I find this cabinet well-constructed and made of quality materials. I can hang necklaces of varying lengths, mount rings in the velvet bars, and hang earrings in the multiple slots.

I give this cabinet a "4" instead of a "5" for the following reasons: I'm a little hesitant to hang post earrings in the cabinet for fear they will drop out. I don't find it particularly convenient to hang bracelets with certain kinds of clasps. The cabinet takes two strong people to mount on the wall; of course, it is also a plus that the cabinet is heavy and well-constructed.

For ease of mounting, I recommend these steps:
1)Roll out a piece of wrapping paper larger than the cabinet and turn it to the back side. Place the cabinet on top of the paper.
2) Trace the outline of the cabinet on the paper with a pencil or pen.
3) Remove the cabinet from the paper and cut out the outline of the cabinet.
4) Turn the cabinet to the back side and lay flat down. Be careful not to put pressure on the mirror.
5) Place the wrapping paper on top of the cabinet, being careful to match the edges exactly.
6) Punch holes through the wrapping paper where the mounting screws go.
7) Tape the wrapping paper template to the wall where you want to hang your cabinet. You now know exactly where the cabinet will be on the wall, and you can put your screws where the holes are in your wrapping paper template. Draw on the wall exactly where your screws need to be, or make starter holes if walls are plaster. Don't forget to put a small piece of tape on the wall to keep plaster from shattering.
8) Check to see that your top screw holes are level.
9) Have a second person so that one can hold the cabinet up (35 lbs.) and the other can put the screws in the wall.
10) Enjoy your new cabinet!

Sterilite 19889806 70-Quart Ultra Storage Box See-Through with White Lid and Titanium Latches, 4-Pack Review

I'll give them five stars considering they are priced competitively. The quality is much better than expected. The plastic feels sturdy enough considering the size. I believe the 70 quart is made stronger than the 66 quart.

They arrived in excellent condition with no damage or imperfections even though there is no padding in the shipping box.

What I like about this design is that the lid is a latch type and not a snap on lid. I think this is very useful for this size container because you will probably be filling it up completely and it will get heavy. The latch type handles and lid also feel very comfortable.

The only thing I want to point out for those of you who think 70-quarts is a lot is that these don't look as big as I thought. I think this is because the base is smaller than the top. I'm certainly glad I didn't buy a smaller size. Actually the size is perfect for my needs but I thought 70-quarts would be a little larger.

I plan on buying a few more cases as I am satisfied with them.

I recommend them for your storage needs. I want to point out that if you are going to fill them with heavy items and then stack them, you should fill them completely so that the contents are filled to the top so that the lid has no slack. Even if you fill these with heavy items but you don't fill them completely, once you stack them, the heavy weight will warp the lids and could possibly crack them. So what I am saying is fill them so that when you put the lid on there is no give when you push on the center of the lid. Just follow that simple step and you will not have any problems as the plastic bin itself is of very high quality.

EDIT: 8/31/11 I noticed the price is now $79.99. When I said "Priced Competitively" I meant only @ $54. $80 seems a bit steep so I would wait till they come down. I've also seen this model sold at Target for $12.99 each.

Pay 6 Get 8 Riedel Vinum Cabernet / Bordeaux -Set of 8 Review

The Riedel Vinum is my go to red wine glass for tasting. I taste a couple hundred wines a year and this is my most trusted glass. I like the Riedel Vinum Extreme Cabernet/Merlot Glasses, Set of 2 a little better for looks and with some wines that I really want to concentrate the aroma of, but this Vinum wine glass is my overall favorite.

I posted a picture showing the various glasses that I have been using for side-to-side taste tests with. The choice of glass does matter, so it is important to match the wine to the glass. In general, match the type of glass with the varietal of wine being tasted. However, even with glasses that are for the same type, there are differences between manufacturers.

The Vinum glass makes all my reds taste good. There are more specialized glasses that make certain wines taste better out of certain glasses. Some of the larger glasses shown in the pictures are better for the large and robust red wines. However, an older wine with more subtle flavors and balance actually tastes better from the smaller glass (this reviewed Vinum).

The largish bowl helps the aroma develop. They are really good to swirl the wine with and release the flavors to your nose (you really taste with your nose). The rim is nice and thin which is great. The balance in your hand is nice; it is not too light to feel like it will break in your hand, but also not heavy so it distracts from the wine. A good glass almost disappears in your mind when you are drinking. You notice it when the wine is poured. You notice the feel in your hand and the feel against your lips. Then the glass should just get out of the way.

They are somewhat fragile and it is tempting to try the Spiegelau Vino Vino Bordeaux Glass, Set of 4 which is almost identical in shape and size. It is a good glass as well and worth considering, especially if price is an issue. I have tasted many wines side by side from the two glasses and think it is a good product. However, a couple things to note...

The Spiegelau has a smaller foot or base than the Riedel Vinum. This makes it more likely to tip over and break while spilling your wine all over the place. Not something that would keep me from purchasing them, but it is something to be careful of when you are using them. You also get a little less crystal so that can be one of the reasons the price is lower.

Also, the rim of the Vinum is thinner and more delicate than the Spiegelau Vino Vino. This changes how the wine enters your mouth and releases the flavors. It also impacts how the glass feels on your lips. A small amount can be a noticable difference. The Spiegelau is not a thick rim, but it is thicker. This extra thickness however makes the glass a little more robust.

My recommendations is to purchase the Riedel Vinum glass if you are looking for glasses for yourself or small groups to enjoy your wine. Be careful when washing them (see below) and understand that they will occasionally be broken. There is a two glass set (Riedel Vinum Bordeaux, Set of 2) that lowers the overall price if you only want a couple for your personal use. If you are looking for a set of glasses to use for larger parties and want a good quality set then I would suggest the Spiegelau. I would not recommend going with the lower priced Riedel sets.

Washing:

My advice for washing all your nice wine glasses is to hand wash the next day. DO NOT wash glasses after you have been drinking. Think about it...you have poorer coordination and you are going to wash your nice wine glasses. Rinse them out and then leave them on the counter.

Secondly, get use to water spots. Unless I am having a fine meal with guests, I wash my glasses by hand with very hot water and then dry them with a hand towel. I generally do not use soap and when I do it is just a little bit on my fingers and I use it on the rim only. No dishwasher.

NEVER hold the foot of the stem and twist the glass. You will snap the stem off. Also, do not force your hand or a towel into the bowl to dry it. You are just going to break the bowl. Take the end of the towel and put it into the bowl and twirl the towel around. Do not force the towel in so it is tight. Just have it in there rather loose. You will get most of the water off the sides, but not all of it. When it dries, you will have some spots. If you are going to drink out of it next, do you really care? I would rather have a few spots on my intact wine glasses than have broken glasses. The spots disappear when you put your wine in the glass and swirl it.
