Simply put, this is one impressive trash can!

The product is made of a heavy stainless steel that (unlike my stainless steel appliances) does not show fingerprints. To open, you simply press on the top bar and the lid smoothly pops up. There are no foot controls. The top section lifts off and there's a black plastic can inside that you lift up or remove to change your trash bags. This is a very well-thought-out design, as the bag stays hidden when the top is replaced. It's also convenient if something should spill inside the can--all you would have to do is pull out the inner plastic can and rinse it.

My model looks different than what is pictured. There is a black opening on the front so you can lift and carry the can, if need be.

One thing you should note is this can is very tall--about 8 inches taller than most conventional kitchen trash cans. It doesn't fit in the closet where we currently store our can, so I'll have to find a new location for it.

If you like the look of this can, then I can't imagine that you'll be disappointed when it arrives. It's a quality product.

Edit: After having used this for six months or so, I still absolutely love it! I also forgot to mention in my review that you can use any brand of tall kitchen trash bags--you don't have to buy the SimpleHuman bags.
