I received my 8' x 8' rug this week, and the matching rug runner a few days later. Opening up the double packaged,rolled up rug, I was a little pensive because I could see that the color of the rug border was darker than I was expecting. This rug is clearly described online(not only on Amazon, but many other websites as well)as being "light blue & ivory" of color. It is NOT! Rather, its colors are predominantly TEAL blue and TAUPE, with bright rust embellishments. It also has gold and yellow color accents. But it was NOT REMOTELY WHAT THE PICTURE INDICATED ONLINE.I WAS SHOCKED!THERE IS NOT ONE SPOT OF 'IVORY' OR LIGHT BLUE ON THIS RUG. The first reaction is "How will I ever get it back into the cylindrical packaging it came in to return it?" After fully unfolding the rug, I began to appreciate its own unique beauty. True, it was NOT what I had intended, given the ONLINE DESCRIPTION. So getting over that initial shock, I continued looking at it from all angles and different light sources. It is beautiful when you are looking at the entire expanse of it. The teal blue is very rich-looking, yet subtle. Nice thick wool knap. Not shedding, and it laid flat right away, looking very attractive on my wood floor. Makes the small dining area look homier. Another upside - these rug colors are perfect if you have pets...I doubt that any pet accidents or tummy upsets will ever show on these carpet color tones. This rug is thick and substantial. It looks as if it will last for the next century. It has been placed in a high traffic location, so I hope it proves itself to be a high-quality product. Bottom line: even though the color of this rug is NOT EVEN NEAR THE COLOR THAT WAS PORTRAYED ONLINE, I am happy with it and the rug runner finishes a 'completed' look for my kitchen/dining area.
