I purchased this for my 7 year old daughter's very hard twin bed about six months ago. It does help cushion her bed, but after sleeping on a bed that had a memory foam top on it, I wish I had purchased that instead. My biggest con with this feather bed is that I wish the cover material they used was thicker. The feathers poke through the bed AND the sheets, so you DEFINITELY need to buy a cover for it. I thought I didn't need one since I would be putting the mattress cover on top of the feather bed, but it compressed it too much for it to do its job, so I had to remove it, but then it got prickly. Keep in mind also that, depending on what size mattress you have, it will also make it harder for the sheets to stay on since it does add about 2". The nice thing about this feather bed vs. the memory foam is that it breaths better, so doesn't get as hot.
