I upgraded from the AQ-4501.55. The AQ-4501.55 in my opinion appears to use superior quality components. The actual faucet is studier on the AQ-4501.55 than this "upgrade". The original had three lines and could stop the flow of water to the filter. The replacement system has a single feed to the faucet, the flow appears to be controlled by the actual filter system. When the filters are removed flow is cut off the the faucet. That is not a big deal, although I like the water to have been controlled by the faucet. Now I have another valve I have to worry about leaks from within the actual filter system. The AQ-4501.55 faucet felt real study, the "upgrade" feel like it's going to fall apart any second now, and I just installed it an hour ago (at least to me anyway).

Here is the real kicker, when upgrading the AQ-4501.55 faucet's stem that attaches to the sink is much thicker when going into the faucet because of the three lines that feed into it. The new system is much thinner, since it only has one line feeding into it. The plastic pieces (the AQ-4501.55 had metal components) that stop the faucet from falling though to the cabine below are way too small to cover the intial hole from the AQ-4501.55 system. REALLY!!! WHAT MARKETING GENIOUS FIGURED THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA???? I had to go the home depot and by a huge diameter stainless washer to put above and below the sytem so that the hole in the sink would not be noticeable and the faucet would be held in appropriately and slide all over the place. WHY??? Why would anyone sell an upgrade that does not come with a kit to fit prior systems. Guess you don't want to keep your prior customers, or you don't want them to upgrade.

The filter kit, is a pain to install the filters in. You can no longer easily remove the filter portion to install the filters, then put it back. You have to twist the filters off from below and then try and line replacements up while your head is stuck under the sink then twist them into place. BTW - they don't line up easily and they don't twist two easily (at least not as far as I am concerned). I've been a water for life customer for years and been happy with the AQ-4501.55. Once I removed the AQ-4501.55 and was half way though the install of the "upgrade" I was too comitted to go back. I wish, wish, wish, I never "upgraded". No way I'm putting up with the filter installs. No way I'm going back.

Guess I'm gonna go to another company. This is the only way companies learn, though lost revenue.

My recommendation, if you have a AQ-4501.55, DO NOT UPGRADE. The hole in your sink will not be covered up by the installation kit. Even if you put huge stainless washer like I did, it just does not look right. You get a flimsy faucet that feels like it's gonna break and the filters are difficult to put on without constantly removing the filter system by unscrewing it from the cabinet, then replacing the filter, then screwing it back in. UNREAL!!!
