A very warm, low pressure shower head, poorly suited as a handheld unit. Those who primarily use it as a fixed shower, who don't need their pressure amplified, and who don't care about saving water will like the unit just fine, particularly if a warm, gentle, and long shower is what you are after.

Here's why: the Raindance effect depends on gravity not water pressure and needs about 2-4 feet of drop before it becomes pronounced. It reminds me of a suspended bucket with holes in the bottom but is, I suppose, a bit like showering in the rain. However, if the unit is taken off the mount and directed upwards the main jets (broad setting) begin to falter after two inches. Only a few drops make it as high as four inches. This means it will take some time to rinse soap from your body. The longer shower that other reviewers have mentioned is not a luxury. It's necessary.

In general my water pressure is modest but not terrible. I've had several cheaper hand showers that worked better. They just didn't last.

The Hansgrohe unit has no trickle or "off" function, so if you want that you'll need to purchase an additional valve.

Build quality is also okay but not great. The unit is made of plastic which makes it lightweight, but it lacks the impressive "quality" of my Hansgrohe kitchen faucet which cost about the same.
